Will the Aerosmith Concert push thru or not?

UPDATE: Concert was moved to April 2

Previously, the official Facebook page of SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds posted that Aerosmith will have a concert at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on March 19. Then, www.gig.ph posted in their blog about this concert. Afterwards, the blog of www.gig.ph went down and just recently, SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds removed the said post in their Facebook page.

I actually learned about this concert when my Facebook friend shared a link of the blog post of www.gig.ph. Since their source was the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, it must be true. A lot of people shared this in their Twitter and Facebook accounts.

I checked the tour page of Aerosmith, but there’s no single concert listed there.

~~Since, SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds removed the said post, I guess this won’t push thru after all.~~ What will happen to American Idol?

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo’s tandem is back again on the big screen with their newest film Miss You Like Crazy. Last night, we, together with our fellow bloggers, watched the Premiere Night at the SM Megamall courtesy of GMCI (thanks for the tickets!). I’ve been a fan of the love team of John Lloyd and Bea eversince so this is exciting to me. I’m sure their fans were excited as well.

There were 2 cinemas alloted for the premiere. One was for the VIP and Media while the other one was for the fans who bought the tickets. I guess more showbiz personalities were there than in our theater. Glad that John Lloyd and Bea went to our theater just to say that their presence were there. Sam Milby, Anne Curtis, Melai and Jason of Pinoy Big Brother were there as well.

We were seated at the balcony of Cinema 9 but I was still able to take photos of the tandem. Good thing I brought Karla’s 18x zoom camera

Overall, the film was nicely done though there were some failure in the Malaysia scenes. Don’t worry, I won’t tell you anything about the story . There were not enough quotable quotes compared to their previous movie One More Chance but this film is much lighter than that. At the first part of the film, I felt bored but someone regained my attention at the middle and especially at the end of the film. I like the shots of the director Cathy Molina. The framing of the shots were interesting.

3D Cinemas in the Philippines

The number of 3D Cinemas are increasing in the Philippines. SM IMAX Theater is the first to offer consumers with advanced cinematic 3D. Other cinemas that are offering 3D formats are:

Digital Cinama at Greenbelt 3

Even though the price is higher than the rate of regular cinemas, consumers are willing to pay for it because of the great movie experience that it offers. The next milestone that we will probably wait for is the first Filipino-made movie that will be available in 3D format.

PLDT WatchPad: Value-added service for PLDT myDSL Subscribers

PLDT myDSL’s newest value-added service for its subscribers is PLDT WatchPad. The downside of it is that only users who have Windows XP or Windows Vista may use the WatchPad application which is built using the Microsoft .NET 2 Framework. Even though there are still more Microsoft users, they could have at least addressed the other operating systems by making a WatchPad player that’s compatible with those operating systems.

Since PLDT WatchPad was just launched, I would understand why they have a few channels. Here are some of the channels available:

- MTV (limited music videos as of the moment as per PLDT but has a variety of pop culture and reality TV shows)
- VOOM HD (24/7 International channel providing HD (high-definition) programming)
- CNBC (for business)
- PBO (Pinoy Box Office – get your dose of Filipino movies)
- GO – (for modern and urban lifestyle)

There’s also a downloadable channel guide available (PDF format). I think it would be great if they could have it available online without having to download a PDF file.

I just wonder what’s their business model here. How are they (PLDT) going to earn from this aside from being a marketing tool to attract more subscribers, to retain existing customers and or to make existing customers upgrade their subscription plans.

Minny Pacquiao, is Manny Pacquiao’s shortest biggest fan. It’s a web comedy series that I found through Twitter. It’s not yet as viral like the other web comedy series that I’ve seen but this could have some potential considering there are a lot of Manny Pacquiao fans worldwide.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen made the cinemas jam-packed this weekend. In Greenbelt 3, all of the cinemas are showing Transformers. When we checked at Greenbelt 3 cinemas last Friday, last full shows were as late as 11:50pm and 12:55am respectively. This is already expected since it’s the opening weekend.
