Trending Topics for Pinoys Week 2

This week had been pretty exciting for technology, social networking and entertainment for Pinoys. To sum it up:

Apple WWDC ’09
Apple’s announcement of the new 13 inch Macbook Pro, iPhone 3GS (yes, there’s a new iPhone) and the iPhone OS 3.0 software update.

Multiply 4.0
The new version of Multiply which could be a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. A good thing because it has improved the way we track down new updates and a bad thing because the over-all user-interface design needs lots of improvements.

Release of WordPress 2.8 – Baker
WordPress 2.8 (named after Chet Baker) was just released. Check out the list of new features here.

Google.com.ph and Independence Day
Custom Google logo incorporating the Philippine flag in Google’s logo design for Independence day. A lot of users have noticed it.

Facebook Vanity URLs
At 12:01 pm (Manila time), a lot of Facebook users have been waiting over at facebook.com/username to get their vanity URLs for their respective Facebook profiles.

Pussycat Dolls Concert in Manila
The concert was held last Thursday (night before the Independence day) at SM Mall of Asia’s Concert Grounds.

AkoMismo Dog Tag Day
AkoMismo’s Dog Tag day was held during Independence day where they sold the dog tags (proceeds would go to charity).

UNO Magazine v2.0′s release
The new UNO Magazine has been released in magazine stands and bookstores just this Saturday. Look for names of the characters in Transformers ;) Also, you’ll get to see a bigger version of the magazine with a combination of glossy and matte print instead of the usual glossy print.

NBA, LA Lakers and Orlando Magic
Filipino basketball fans and enthusiasts have been talking about the NBA playoffs 2009 face-off between LA Lakers and Orlando Magic.

And for the politics part, No to Con-Ass rally was held last Wednesday at Ayala Ave. Makati City. Then, HR 1109 was put on-hold. Thus, there’s really nothing to celebrate yet for us (supporters of No to Con-Ass).
