Acer Aspire Timeline

Acer Aspire Timeline 1

Acer Aspire Timeline has defined mobile computing with its portability and of course, it’s superior battery life. I see this as a next trend in mobile computing where people would be confident enough not to bring their laptop’s charger when they go to have a meeting in a coffee shop or go to a presentation. It has a slim profile (24mm thick) that would attract people who are always on the go.

With its price, I do not see this as a direct competition for their Acer Aspire One netbooks since they target a different market segment.

Acer Aspire Timeline is the world’s first laptop to have the Ultra Low Voltage processors by Intel. In addition to that, aside from the 8-hour battery life, it has a one-touch key called the “Acer PowerSmart Key” that would make the laptop conserve more energy. The Acer PowerSmart Adapter would also make your laptop save up to 66 percent energy when put into sleep mode.

Acer Aspire Timeline should bring the laptop back to the lap with its Laminar Wall Jet Engine design. Most laptops would heat easily making them not suitable to put on your lap.

The Acer Aspire Timeline has three models the 3810T (13.3″), 4810T (14″) and 5810T (15.6″). Out of the three models, only 13.3″ does not have an optical drive. I still see having not optical drives though as a disadvantage most especially for those who depend heavily on optical discs either for business/entertainment purposes.

I’m loving my Acer Timeline, for me it does what I need. I’ve had about 6-7 hours use out of the battery, so not a full 8 hours, but still not bad!

I bought the 5810t and it’s great, for a decent sized screen, the dimesnions and weight are well proportioned – doesnt feel too heavy or too light!
