Nintendo DSi was just announced. With its features unveiled, will it be able to gain more buyers in the Philippines? I’ve gathered some graphs using Google Trends for us to see how is it popular.
I’ve used the search terms PSP and Nintendo DS in Google Trends (region is set to Philippines), and the above graph shows how Sony’s PSP is popular in the Philippines. In fact, PSP Games are widely searched than Nintendo DS Games.
However, I just find it weird that when using the terms Sony PSP and Nintendo DS as the terms for Google Trends, Nintendo DS appears higher. I tried using PSP versus DS in Google Trends (Philippines) and the search term PSP in Google eats up a big slice of the search market in the Philippines.
Nintendo DSi Specs:

Nintendo DSi has the following specs:
- dual 3.25 inch displays
- 256 x 192 screen resolution
- 2 cameras (1 VGA resolution)
- SD slot
- Internal memory (size is still unknown)
- WiFi
- Browser for surfing the internet
- Touch screen (single-touch)
The built-in cameras would surely delight the gamers who’d love to take photos as well. But with the comparison of Nintendo DSi and Sony PSP 3000, PSP 3000′s has a bigger screen size though it’s not dual. However, PSP 3000′s screen resolution is bigger than that of Nintendo DSi. It boasts of a 480 x 272 screen resolution with 16M colors that would certainly give a great user experience. PSP 3000 still does not have a touch screen interface though. Adding this feature would have improved the user’s internet browsing experience.
The Features or The Games?
The available games will still be a deciding factor whether one will purchase a Nintendo DSi or the Sony PSP 3000.
