Plurk or Twitter?

Plurk.com and Twitter.com on Google Trends

This graph shows that Twitter.com is still the most widely used microblogging tool in the Philippines (that is as of July 2008 data from Google Trends). However, Plurk.com’s traffic is fast catching up.

Plurk.com though is not that popular amongst developers and some bloggers because of the lack of receiving SMS notifications. However, BizStone recently announced that:

Twitter is no longer delivering outbound SMS over our UK number.

But you can still continue sending updates on the UK number. Of course, for those of us who are based in the Philippines, we’re not going to send updates via the UK number since there’s PH Twitters. :D And for Plurk, yes you can send SMS updates via PHPlurk’s gateway.

Let’s see if Twitter will still have more unique visitors than Plurk on the next months to come with their device notifications removed.
