Well, according to Google Trends data in the Philippines, Friendster.com is still the number one social network in the Philippines. Metrics are based on Google Trends measure of unique visitors for the website (for Philippines region only).
Multiply.com comes a distant second while Facebook.com is still far from Multiply.com’s daily reach. MySpace.com does not seem to reach the “masa appeal” as well.
Amongst all the listed social networks here, Friendster.com has the so-called “masa appeal”. If you have noticed, some have even created Friendster profiles for places of hangout, institutions which gave Friendster an idea to add some features.
Multiply.com, as I have noticed, have been used by a lot of entrepreneurs who are selling gadgets, bags, clothes, etc. For MySpace.com, a lot of artists (bands or singers) are using the website to promote their music online.
As for Facebook.com, this one became popular because of its applications. A lot of people have been using it also to spread information on events.
What do you think will Friendster.com’s future will be on the Philippine social networking space?
